Located at 730 Fifth Avenue within the iconic Crown Building, Chopard’s new two-story flagship boutique is both a tribute to New York City and a reflection of the maison’s rich heritage. Design Republic served as Architect of Record, partnering closely with the Chopard team to realize the brand’s vision within one of Manhattan’s most storied addresses.

Drawing inspiration from Chopard’s first boutique—opened in Vienna in 1918—the design fuses classic European elegance with the grandeur of the Art Deco-era building. Fior di bosco marble floors and rich mahogany vitrines nod to the maison’s legacy, while the preserved moldings, divided-light windows, and soaring 16-foot ceilings reinforce a sense of timeless sophistication.

Within the boutique, custom furnishings and tailored environments—including a main salon, VIP room, and gentleman’s lounge—create a luxurious, immersive experience. Suspended throughout the space, 365 hand-crafted Murano glass magnolia leaves pay tribute to nearby Central Park, representing each day of the year and shifting in tone to reflect the seasons: silver for winter, brown for autumn, pink for spring, and yellow for summer.

Design Republic coordinated with the project team to ensure architectural details like brass inlays, arched forms, and amethyst accents were executed to the highest standards. Velvet-upholstered walnut furniture and curated art installations provide richness and dimension, while also allowing the space to evolve with rotating exhibitions.

Designed to achieve LEED certification, the boutique incorporates energy-efficient systems and responsibly sourced materials—aligning Chopard’s commitment to sustainability with the durability and performance expectations of a high-end retail flagship. The result is a refined, enduring space that celebrates craftsmanship, heritage, and the brand’s ongoing presence in New York City.
