When Condé Nast began consolidating their footprint at One World Trade Center, they engaged Design Republic to reimagine and reprogram their existing workplace. The challenge: reduce the number of occupied floors while enhancing the quality of the space—making it lighter, more connected, and more adaptable to evolving modes of work.
By selectively removing enclosed office blocks, Design Republic opened visual and physical connections across each floorplate, drawing in natural light and framing the sweeping views of Lower Manhattan. As the organization transitioned many employees to open workstations, the new layout emphasized flexibility, weaving in a variety of collaborative settings as well as spaces for focused and semi-private work.
Throughout, the design honors the identity of Condé Nast’s celebrated portfolio. Tailored furnishings, tactile wallcoverings, and richly layered materials nod to the brand’s fashion-forward sensibility, while collaborations with vendors connected to Architectural Digest brought a curated, editorial polish to the interiors. The result is a revitalized environment that celebrates the company’s creative legacy while supporting its evolving workplace culture.
