Founded in Bali in 1975, John Hardy has built a global reputation for artisan-crafted luxury jewelry rooted in tradition, craftsmanship, and storytelling. As the brand evolved under new leadership, it sought a workspace that would embody its powerful, dramatic, and inspiring ethos. Relocating to a high-floor space with panoramic views in the Starrett-Lehigh Building, John Hardy envisioned an environment that reflected the spirit of its Balinese origins while supporting a modern, elevated brand experience.

Design Republic translated this vision into a richly layered office and showroom that expresses the brand’s identity through materiality and form. Oversized hand-carved black walnut tables evoke a communal spirit and reference the traditions of the Balinese jewelry compound. Architectural detailing—including textured wood, oil-rubbed and hammered metal finishes, and custom metal inlays—celebrates craftsmanship and reflects the intricate qualities of the jewelry itself. Suspended vitrines frame sweeping Hudson River views, while museum-like displays in the elevator lobby showcase artisan tools and archival sketches, grounding the space in the artistry of wearable storytelling.
