Design Republic was engaged by Brightstar Capital to reimagine its New York City headquarters, beginning with a comprehensive Conceptual Planning & Feasibility Study to evaluate two prospective sites ranging from 16,500 to 19,000 rentable square feet. The study assessed how each location could support the firm’s organizational needs, workflows, and strategic presence within its broader network of offices. Through detailed programming and conceptual block planning, the team determined optimal space configurations, ultimately informing the selection and planning of the chosen site.

Drawing inspiration from the building’s architectural character—particularly its center core and column-free perimeter—the final design locates workstations around the core, reserving open, light-filled zones for the café and client-facing areas. A carefully curated material palette distinguishes zones: soft, luminous tones enhance public and social spaces, while deeper hues in meeting and work areas encourage focus and concentration.

Throughout, the exposed waffle slab ceiling adds texture and height, its grid motif echoed in custom details such as the reception’s glass partition wall. The design also seamlessly integrates Brightstar’s notable art collection, reinforcing a refined, gallery-like atmosphere while honoring the firm’s identity through thoughtful spatial storytelling.
