When CNBC set out to reimagine their iconic newsroom, they turned to Design Republic to lead a comprehensive desking renovation that would elevate both form and function. The result: a space that doubled seating capacity while integrating multiple stand-up insert camera positions—transforming the newsroom into a more flexible, media-ready environment.

The design strategy centered on introducing a dynamic new layout that encourages collaboration and supports a wide range of broadcast angles. Through a series of test-fit studies, Design Republic evaluated headcount potential, conducted extensive furniture evaluations—including showroom tours with CNBC leadership—and coordinated with CNBC Sourcing to execute product mock-ups and competitive bid reviews.

The final design features a distinctive 120-degree workstation configuration that balances on-air visual appeal with practical, real-time newsroom functionality. The transformation set a new benchmark for broadcast news environments—one that supports CNBC’s fast-paced editorial mission while reinforcing the brand’s recognizable visual identity.
