Located on the 26th and 27th floors of 10 Hudson Yards, Intersection’s headquarters represents the physical embodiment of a merger between two forward-thinking companies dedicated to transforming urban life through technology. Design Republic was engaged to create a dynamic, flexible workplace that captures the spirit of innovation and problem-solving at the heart of Intersection’s mission.
With a focus on improving the urban experience, Intersection confronts the complex systems that shape city life—from transit and connectivity to information access—and develops technologies that will redefine urban infrastructure. The design concept draws on the idea of an “elevated perspective,” a metaphor for both strategic vision and physical orientation. This guiding principle informed the layout and user experience of the space, supporting both day-to-day function and future-forward thinking.
The workplace is fully open and agile, supporting an egalitarian, collaborative culture. A range of work settings—open and enclosed—are interspersed throughout to support different modes of collaboration. At the heart of the office, a centrally located Concourse serves as a hub for employees and visitors alike, facilitating interaction and providing space for both casual conversation and structured town halls. A dramatic interconnecting stair links the two floors, encouraging movement and unifying the workspace.
On the 27th floor, large, open "Project Camps" act as incubators for evolving workstreams, designed to be reconfigurable as the company continues to grow and adapt. The design supports Intersection’s mission not just functionally, but ideologically—embedding innovation, adaptability, and vision into the everyday workplace experience.
