Ovation Travel Group, one of the largest independently owned travel management and luxury leisure companies in the U.S., relocated its headquarters to Chrysler East at 666 Third Avenue in Midtown Manhattan to support its continued growth. Design Republic was tasked with creating a space that reflects Ovation’s identity and celebrates its core value: connection—to people, places, and culture. Drawing inspiration from the experience of travel, the layout follows a European city model, with distinct work neighborhoods centered around a communal hub that flows from the east-side reception to a southwest terrace café.
The design preserves and highlights the building’s architectural history—restoring original terrazzo floors, exposing steel columns, and retaining structural concrete beams—while layering in warm wood finishes, contemporary detailing, and a brand-forward aesthetic. Acoustic performance was a top priority, supporting a quiet and focused environment with thoughtful zoning, sound-absorbing materials, and ambient elements like soft music and a split-flap display offering personalized greetings. Though not formally LEED-certified, the project integrates sustainable materials, LED lighting, and a centralized recycling center, delivering a workplace that’s both environmentally responsible and deeply connected to Ovation’s spirit of journey and hospitality.
